This Sponsored Content Policy explains how sponsored articles, advertorials, affiliate links, product features and other commercial content may appear in the News and Insights sections of the I Love Solar website. I Love Solar is operated by Genetiqe Pty Ltd (ABN 55 165 721 595).

What is sponsored content?

Sponsored content is content created, commissioned, supported or influenced by a business or commercial partner, or content where I Love Solar may receive payment, commission, a referral fee, free product, service, access or another benefit. It may include an advertorial, sponsored article, commercial guide, partner feature, product comparison, newsletter item, video, social post or other News or Insights content.

An affiliate link is a link that may result in I Love Solar receiving a commission or other benefit if you click the link or make a purchase, enquiry or other transaction. Affiliate relationships do not necessarily mean that a business has paid for the article itself, but they will be disclosed where relevant.

How we identify commercial content

We will use clear labels such as Sponsored Content, Advertorial, Paid Partnership, Affiliate Link or similar wording. The disclosure will be placed where readers can see and understand it, including near the beginning of an article or next to an affiliate link where appropriate. We will not deliberately present paid or incentivised content as independent news, an unpaid review or an ordinary editorial article.

Advertising banners and other display placements are covered by our Advertising Policy. This policy applies specifically to commercial content integrated into News, Insights, guides, comparisons or other editorial-style material.

Editorial independence

Commercial partners may provide background information, products, services, factual corrections or approved brand information. Payment or a commercial relationship does not automatically give a partner the right to determine our conclusions, rankings, recommendations or editorial opinion. We may decline content, edit it for accuracy, clarity, legal compliance and house style, or remove it if it no longer meets our standards.

Where a partner has requested or paid for a specific message, the content will be treated as marketing communication and labelled accordingly. Sponsored content should not be understood as an independent endorsement, a guarantee of performance or a recommendation that a particular product or service is right for you.

Accuracy and responsible claims

We expect sponsors, partners and contributors to provide information that is current, accurate and capable of being supported. Sponsored content must not contain claims that are false, misleading, unsubstantiated or likely to create a misleading overall impression. Important limitations, conditions, exclusions, costs and eligibility requirements should be stated clearly.

We take particular care with claims about energy savings, system performance, rebates, payback periods, environmental benefits, prices, finance, product suitability and regulatory compliance. Readers should confirm current information with the relevant provider and obtain independent advice where appropriate.

We do not knowingly publish fabricated testimonials, fake reviews or material that misrepresents a person’s experience. A contributor’s genuine experience does not establish that every reader will receive the same result.

Products and services we may feature

Sponsored or affiliate content may feature businesses offering services or products related to energy, solar, batteries, electric vehicles, home improvement, technology, finance, lifestyle or other subjects relevant to our audience. These businesses are independent third parties and are not part of, or directly related to, I Love Solar unless we expressly state otherwise.

We do not knowingly accept sponsored content promoting gambling, gaming, adult or sexually explicit services, tobacco or vaping products, illegal drugs, weapons, scams, counterfeit goods or other products or services that we consider unsafe, unlawful, misleading or inappropriate for our audience. Our Advertising Policy also applies to commercial partners and paid placements.

Affiliate links and click-throughs

Clicking an affiliate link may take you to an independent third-party website. I Love Solar does not control that website’s products, pricing, availability, terms, privacy practices, security, delivery, customer service or subsequent communications. We do not guarantee that a linked provider is suitable, licensed, solvent, available or compliant, and an affiliate link should not be treated as an endorsement or guarantee.

Please review the provider’s own terms and privacy policy, verify important claims independently and use care before providing personal information, making a payment or entering into an agreement. Any commission or benefit does not normally increase the price you pay, but the provider’s own terms apply.

Corrections and updates

If we identify a material error in sponsored content, we may correct, update, annotate or remove it. Sponsored content may become outdated when prices, products, rebates, regulations, availability or provider terms change.
